A solid has a definte shape and volume to it becuase the molecules are not oving and are tightly together. The phase of solid is divided up into to classes: amorphous solids and crystalline solids. A crystalline solid is when the arrangement of atoms/molecules are repeated while as a amorphous solid is when the arrangements of atoms/molecules are random.
