Phases Of Matter
There are three main phases of matter: solid, liquid, and gas.

Solid
When matter is in the phase of solid, it means that all of the molecules are very close together, packed tight with each and they can not move around. Examples of solid matter are: rock, wood, and frozen water (ice), copper, sand, and more.
Liquid
When matter is in the phase of liquid, it means that the molecules are still close together, however the molecules move around slowly, making it not a solid. Examples of liquid matter are: water, milk, blood, gasoline, coffee, and more.
Gas
When matter is in the phase of gas, it means that the molecules are not close to each other and are moving rapidly. They are freely moving around a high speeds. Examples of gas matter are: the air we breathe, oxygen, steam, hellium, nitrogen, etc.
